Welcome to the Sheffield City School website. Since 1888 we have been educating the citizens of Sheffield. We take great pride in the many accomplishments of our former students and the positive impact they have had in our city, state, and throughout the world.

We are located on the bluffs of the beautiful Tennessee River in the heart of the Muscle Shoals area in Sheffield, Alabama. Sheffield is a traditional small town with tree-lined streets and a blend of historical and contemporary homes. Sheffield has a population of approximately 10,000 and boasts a proud heritage. The city was incorporated in 1885 and named for its iron and steel producing sister city Sheffield, England.

We have an excellent faculty and staff dedicated to fulfilling our mission: To provide a safe, nurturing, academic environment that will allow all students to achieve their highest potential while becoming lifelong learners and productive citizens.
